Has Leaked...
And for those that haven't heard Sylosis, check them out.
Most probably the best English Metal bands for a long time.
Trivium fans should enjoy.

Eww, metalcore.
But really, it's pretty good, i know we have a few metalcore fans around here (somewhere).
Wouldn't say they're one of the best English bands in a long time though.

I personally don't think they are too much of metalcore. He only screams sometimes and when he does, sounds great. Much like Matt Heafy
His voice is rough, aggressive and powerful. Their guitar work is great. The album supreme oppressor is great. Favorite song is Turbulence. The beakdown in that song is epic

Sorry man, well off there.
Defo Post-Trash/Groove Metal, at the least.
They new album is especially layered with tons of Thrash Elements.
For me people are letting this Metalcore bullshit get in the way of really decent metal.
This band are churning out some of the best thrash riffs I have heard from an english metal band in years.
Just because they harmonise riffs in thirds, and have Sceaming vox, doesn't make them Metalcore.
Besides I hardly doubt a band whos key song writers are massive fans of bands like: Death, Testament, Forbidden, Metallica, Pantera, Obituary, Sepultura, Opeth etc... Would be churning out anything other than straight up metal.

Gets the Mattie seal of approval!
Good stuff.

QUOTEBullet for My Valentine have cited being influenced by bands such as Metallica, Annihilator, Pantera, Machine Head, Iron Maiden, Testament, Slayer, Stuck Mojo, Judas Priest and Megadeth.
Yeah man. Sure.

Elliot has a point. Just because a band says they are influenced by certain artists doesn't guarantee they'll be good!
But as it is... I find Sylosis quite good.

Yeah man, in fact i actually said they're pretty good. I just don't appreciate people telling me i don't know about music.

I'm not trying to tell you that in the slightest.
I'm just saying I don't agree with you, and I stated why.
Typical defensive attitue as usual.
And for the record B4MV can claim they are influenced by those bands, but we all know their fav band is Limp Bizkit, I havent' once seen B4MV wear an Annihilator etc shirt. I've seen them wear an Aiden shirt ha ha.

I'd never heard Sylosis before so I thought I'd check them out, that and I've got a bit of spare time on my hands today.
I listened to the two tracks on their myspace, and they sure have their moments. They're nothing special, or really my thing, but they do have their moments, and they're alright. I don't listen to alot of metalcore (or Post-Trash/Groove Metal, whatever you want to call it) but at times these songs sound like they could be off Unearth's III: In the Eyes of Fire, which also had it's moments. It's all rather samey..
