THE CRUSADE BEGINS HERE...

QUOTE(ShovelNose)Let's just hope that record sales are the only thing comparable between The Crusade and Avenged Sevenfold's last CD.
lol if The Crusade as a whole sounds like City of Evil I would be very disappointed. A7x while very capable with their instruments are just too happy sounding. Trivium's music overall sounds darker, more brutal and just plain more metal!

I just have this feeling that trivium is going to blow up even more then avenged sevenfold have when the album drops and after the maiden tour.
well in the UK they've already blown past a7x but in the US not even close. a7x's latest album has already sold 650K in the US. I dunno how they got so popular tho and I like trivium a lot more. Hopefully The Crusade will turn the tide somewhat.
The key to being big in the states in radio, which we didn't do on the last album. But we will be giving it a go on this one, so we will see.
Well their songs are more radio friendly i guess. I would hate to see you guys write more radio friendly songs just to sell more records. Metallica was selling platinum and headlining sold out arenas in the US when Justice came out with almost no radio play. It would be amazing if you guys could do the same but it's prolly harder now.

Yeah in america radio exposure is a must for any band to become extremely popular. but like i know for sure if trivum do push for radio, their populaity will grow with it, but there's going to be a lot of haters and even people agasint them . i can see it already. Core fans will talk bad to the new fans calling them posers and that they never really heard true trivum or shit like that. and for the other people who only heard trivum from the radio (this is all hypothetical btw) will think the band is overated and try to rally people against the band. heck..im already seeing this against trivum. anyone im america should knows it. bands liek green day and story of the year (sorry for not enough examples) used to be the shit when they come out. now everryone hates them. HOWEVER theres also some bands who manage to overcome this.

I'm not going to lie I have only like a few songs from green day EVER, and I've always hated story of the year. Trivium will still keep their old hardcore fans I'm sure, there might be a LITTLE tension if people show up being uber n00bish, but I'm sure we'll maintain shit.

QUOTE(awdboost)QUOTE(BigDeech)A 90 minute set is usually the norm. Its amazing how I saw them open up for Bodom last year in NYC at Irving, which only holds 1k. Now Trivium should be able to headline a bigger venue since theyre up to 170k albums sold with Ascendancy and its still selling over 1600 a week. Even if you guys don't know, thats a lot for a newer metal band. Its Amazing since that was in support of Ascendancy and the new album will only be out a few days by the time the tour rolls around. I've seen Trivium 4 times, never headlining so I can't wait. Hopefully we'll get a sold out show at a good size club in NYC this October!
I know NY will give Trivium the reception that they deserve. I'll never forget the first time I saw Trivium at the Downtown club. Even though they were opening for Chimaira, they tore the place up from the second they came on the stage. It was a small intimate club, the pit was insane, lotsa crowd movement etc. Everyone was yelling 'We Want More' for a while after they got off stage but trivium prolly couldn't come out cuz they were still an opening act. I kinda felt bad for Chimaira, it was like they got the sloppy seconds of Trivium's roaring crowd. Matt came out later that night and said that was the best crowd reaction they got thus far and did i mentioned he jumped into the crowd while singing on that show..it's the only time I saw him do that! Keep in mind this was when Ascendancy first came out so I think even the band was shocked that everyone was screaming along all the words to their songs w/ horns up. I saw 'em again at irving plaza w/ bodom, and also at webster hall w/ in flames, both amazing shows but nothing compares to that first time....until this coming fall that is  gonna be a sick show w/ them headlining!
I completely agree with you. I was at that Downtown show and it was amazing. Matt coming in the crowd for Like Light to Flies, such a sick show.

well when i first heard detonation (live version) it took about me 2-3 times of listening to it before i fell in love with it, and same goes for the recorded version. its different to the live one, but ive got it on repeat now and its awesome.

the artwork looks like the fucking shit! cant wait for this album to come out, i got a feeling its gona blow everyone away and its not gona be what many expect... ALOT BETTER!!
