The harmonizing at the start reminds me of Rock You Like A Hurricane but slower. Theres probably like 7 songs I like better but I def. like it.

yeah theres 12 songs I like better, probably 14 once I hear vengance and broken one.
but theres no point in bashing the rising.
after reading the lyrics and looking more into the meaning of and sadness will sear I honestly have a new kinda feeling about intolerance of that kind, im not gonna like become some gay rights activist but ill think twice next time I say fag or something
seriously guys, this is a fucking masterpiece, you'll be playing these songs in front of 30,000 every night on your farewell tour in 25 years.
good fucking work, I dunno what to say really.

I think The Rising isn't going to be the typical Trivium fan's favorite off the album. But I think this song has alot of potential outside of the "metal" market. It's not to brutal but not a typical radio rock song either. I don't think everyone was totally digging it at first, but once the label and others heard it a few times it made more sense. It was originally a B-side but once Matt did the vocals it turned out really good.

I do love your the other songs that are not typical metal like This World... or even DIYA from the last album but I just can't get into Rising even after multiple listens. Your other song To The Rats owns though.

it would have been a really big hit
in 1988.
but luckily metals drifting back towards that style, so maybe this is an innovative song in ways?
its not really a headbanger though, i just tried, didnt work

I HATE the trackorder.
Ignition is a terrible pick for opener IMO, atleast I can mix it up though.

ya if i had my choice it would be in the order of my rankings in the other thread

Well it isnt a headbanging song, more of a cool chill one, something different.

I think just lyrically it works to have ignition and detonation back to back, and the cruade works too well at the end to put those two songs at the end.
they didnt have any songs with really hard hitting intros like rain did, but it works completely fine because the album doesnt have an intro track, it just starts off with sick ass technical thrash and doesnt stop.
I wouldnt change the order I dont think
