Anthem and The Rising will be songs that hopefully will make that bridge between the underground metal and mainstream music. For example, Anthem isn't our heaviest, techincal, or most in depth song lyrically, but when that song is placed into BBC 1's day time play list, it stands out like a sore thumb. Same with The Rising. In the next few months these songs will be pushed to commerical radio in the US and other places. It's a real exciting time for us, and hopefully will have an impact with all types of heavier music.

just my opinion but I'd much rather see This World Can't Tear Us Apart go commercial radio than Rising, it's definitely mainstream enough sounding.

I cant wait till some kid is like WOAH ANTHEM THATS A ROCKIN SONG
and goes and downloads blinding tears and freaks out. hahahahaha.
anyways yeah having a few songs to bring you into the mainstream is the way to go, sadly kids will pull the "sell out" card, but if your in a band and you want to be sucessful you gotta break out of the metal underground. We've all known trivium set out with a goal of world domination, and this is the way to go about it.
on that note, make a video for this world cant tear us apart, release it as a single, watch the crusade sell 1,000,000 copies. Simple as that.

yeah I think the rising as a single....eh... hmm. go with world cant tear us apart.
though I do think and sadness will sear as a real video, not just you guys playing, could be quite powerful.
I dunno theres just so much potential and so many ways to go with this album, no doubt all the right decisions will be made, I just cant wait to see them play out over the next year.

The albums pretty good so far. The only songs that "stuck out" to me so far are "contempt breed contamination", "crusade", and "unrepentant" you can hear a little... coughthroughcoughthecoughnever

I think we have plenty of songs that have a good chance at it, so we will see how it goes. The whole "sell out" thing doesn't phase me much, it's like if you are ambitious and what to do something with your life and career then you do it, if not you can sit back and get left behind. That goes for anything, not just being in a band. As for the songs, Anthem, The Rising, and World I think will just be those songs that people will either get into or not. I personally would love to see Sadness become a single down the road, I think the chorus rules.

it sad that nowadays you have to play the radio game to have major success in the states. Metallica did it back in the day with almost no radio airplay but those were different times. None of the songs on And Justice For All were radio worthy yet they sold a lot of records and played to packed arena's every show.

yeah and sadness seems like a 4th or 5th single kinda song, starting with anthem and entrance was a damn good call though, but I think anthem would be a massive hit in the states as well. And honestly its great to see you guys when theres only a few hundred kids there and its right in your face and everything, but hopefully the 2nd round of touring for this album will have some much bigger venues everywhere you go. Im rooting for you guys all the way

I think "One" was their first success with commerical singles. Up until that point they never released one. Master came out and went Gold in a few months without any videos or singles, I think thats just a testament of how big the underground scene was then.

And a testament to how small and unsatisfying it is now. BAH.
We need a "scene" in canada. so our band can afford booze

I don't think 'One' helped them that much, it was mainly played on headbangers ball and late night metal radio shows. Metal was just a lot bigger back then no matter what people say about it coming back now.
