It takes more talent to make riffs in standard tuning than drop d. |

Untrue. You could make some pissing tallented riffs in a dropped tuning man. You dont have to stick to power chords, okay they are easier. Dropped tunings are useful. |

True, if they are used well. There are so many bands that can't play guitar well that use drop-tuning, Linkin Park, Limp Bizkit, BFMV come to mind. But there are a lot of bands that use that to an advantage, and use them well. Opeth definetly comes to mind. |

Sepultura use the drop tunings very well. I use drop d a lot. I find it a good tuning to write in. |

it shouldn't matter what way your guitar is tuned, a good player can play it no matter what, song writing isn't determined by the key to which the guitar is tuned |
