I preferred the old LP/V combo but it doesn't matter a fat lot really. I also preffered Matt with shorter hair but who gives a shit... know what I mean?
Although, to me there was only one person who ever looked right playing one of those Deans...

Dean was always a metal standard for guitars in the 80's and now they are back, so I think it's fitting Matt and Corey switched. I can tell you Dean is way more about treating their artist right than Jackson or Gibson. Same reason I am with BC Rich.

True, Dean have always represented metal music but they're not back... They never went away! All the old bands who use them, still use 'em and a lot of new bands are picking up more Dean electro acoustics then an other.
Gibson especially, they don't give a fuck about you unless your HUGE. If not they will just laugh at you, same with Fender.

yes they did, I believe it was the compnay was bought out or sold for some reason. They have just recently started back up as a company and making guitars and basses again. And I am 99% sure that is why Dimebag had to go to Washburn until he returned to Dean.

I didn't like the Dean in the beginning when Matt started playing it, it didn't look like it suited him, but now I'm getting used to seeing him with it so i guess it doesn't matter what guitar he has really, it's his choice.

QUOTE(Madden)Deans are fucking awesome looking guitars, the guys obviously wanted an image change, and wanted to play something that seemed more unique to themselves, and as long as the same metal brutality is emitted via those amplifiers, then i'll be happy.
+1
I like both combos. But if I had to pick, I would go with the Deans.

Yeah but Dean guitars were still around in mass quantity. And a lot of bands still used them... There was a giant demand for Dean guitars when Micheal Angelo Batio started recomending them and was sponsered by them. They have been being produced again for a few years then, but your right, probably not by the original company though.
Funninly enough i was up a local music shop with a mate today and we were talking about why Dime started using Washburn (And about Matt and Corey using Dime's guitars... And that you should use one-a these!). And i suppose that makes sense, about Dean being bought out or sold for some reason! We just reconed Washburn offered a large amount of money to Dime to use their guitars.
Either way, i think the Deans rock. I was looking into buying one, but probably an ML... I don't think i could afford a Razorback quite yet!

If anyone's got last week's Kerrang! the picture of Matt headbanging with his white Dean makes him look so cool - just as cool as with the white Les Paul. Its just a shame about the hedstocks on those things.
