May i ask, and no flames please, why people like ETI so much? I mean yea, its good, and I enjoyed it when I first got into Trivium, but to me its not even in the same league as Shogun. What makes it so that nobody can get away from that album? I think that shogun is their best work on all accounts because it mixed everything that they ever did well onto the songs. I just don't get it i guess.

I can't get Trivium fans who don't like Shogun, too.
Shogun is easily their best and most complex work.

The song Shogun seems like one of those songs people will hold lighters up for when played live... I've been trying to venture off onto other CD's that recently came out or even anything other than Shogun, but I can't help it... It just keeps returning to my playlist/cdplayer... I'm so addicted wth...

This is my opinion only, so take it for what it's worth, I enjoy ETI for the sheer aggression and intensity. It was Trivium's first and rawest record, which with many bands will be what fans will hold near and dear to their hearts, sometimes because of nostalgia, other times because it can be the first "true" look that you get of a band and their potential.

i just think the song is lame as hell. it tries too hard to be epic when it just seems childish. i prefer songs like pillars of serpents, ember to inferno and to burn the eye. theyre more genuine.
