To: TriviuM From: Frustrated US TriviuM Fans

To: TriviuM
Today, just like every other day in my life, I find myself watching countless bootleg videos of TriviuM (one of my favorite bands of all time) playing live on YouTube. I see that a select few of the members actually capture the entire show! I also notice that almost all of these videos are from overseas shows. I see TriviuM break out classics off of Ember to rarely heard tracks off of Ascendency. While viewing these videos I think to myself, "Where are these kind of shows in the US?!" I've seen Trivium play live 6 times here in the states and they have all been absolutely fucking amazing. BUT, I can think of 2 shows where you have actually played more than 35 minutes. I live here in Chicago and I remember the good times when we literally broke the floor at the House of Blues during one of your shows or when I heard the first half of the Deceived. Now I have to drive to Fort Wayne, IN just to see you guys headline a show (FUCKING AWESOME SHOW BY THE WAY!). Then I read posts by Corey saying "If we don't hit your major city, be patient because we will be back." Well my patience paid off and I purchased my tickets to see you guys at the AllState Arena with Slipknot! But then my excitement quickly lowerd (just a little bit)when I found out that TriviuM is going to put on another typical US show which consists of a way to short 35 minute set opening up for another shitty band (in my opinion) such as Coheed or Evanesence. You guys definately deserve more than 35 minutes on stage and the US definately deserves it as well.  I do understand the reasons why you only get that time (record sales, etc.) but when you have 4 kick ass albums under your belt and Kirk Hammett wearing one of your shirts on stage, I think you're more than ready to headline here and get the time on stage you get overseas. Besides, all of you are from the states as well! I know that I'm not going to be the most popluar Triviumworld.com member after this posting but I feel that US fans should get more TriviuM than what we have been getting over the years. I only say all this because you guys fucking rule and we can't get enough of you! See you next week!! \m/

Don't worry there will be plenty of usa headliners in the future, there is alot of ground to cover within the usa and im sure the guys will probably tell you the same thing.
I see why your upset tho, but don't worry more in the future :)

I can understand why you might be frustrated, but when there is a large enough demand for Hedliners in the US for them to do a full tour, it will happen  :)

i couldnt agree more. they do all f these amazing european tours (black crusade, unholly alliance, supporting maiden, headlining w/ sanctity), and when it comes to the US its supporting w/ two other bands i would never pay a cent to go see. the one time that i saw trivium in a headlining role was back in 2006 right after the crusade came out. while it was an amazing show, they played less than an hour as HEADLINERS. i just want to see a trivium headlining US tour with some quality support, and for them to play a full length set

ive seen trivium headline w/ all that remains and w/ lamb of god... both times fukin rocked... i just cant imagine seeing trivium for MORE than an hour cuz i just might die from the amount of head banging and moshing i do at each show haha
...but i'd love to try

Indeed.  I don't like the short set times but that is what you have to deal with gaining popularity over here is a lot different than over in Europe.  American society is a lot more close minded toward new things and things that aren't handed to them on a silver platter.  As a band you have to work your ass off to get big over here, or you have to make a radio break that will push you into the bigger venues pulling bigger crowds.  Trivium have worked their ass off, they're capable of writing radio stuff but I would believe they're not to fond of trying to do so.  They're surely on their way over here in the states, it just takes work and time.  You think I like seeing them play less than 45 minutes you're dead wrong!  Take what you can get and do your best to help push them to that next height.

Dude, I completely agree!  I'm in my second year as a TW'er and Trivium has never been to my state!  Corey is even FROM HERE!  I live in Portland, ME, which was big enough to be on the tour dates for Disturbed's Music as a Weapon 4 tour, but Trivium has NEVER played here.  It sucks being a TW member and not getting to use any of the best perks of being on TW!  It's really very frustrating, and from what I've seen, they still will only headline the big festival areas...I just get so pissed when I think about all the amazing bands that take the time to visit my state, such as All that Remains, Shadows Fall, Disturbed (4 times in the last 5 years), Breaking Benjamin, Godsmack, Unearth, Bleeding Through, Avenged Sevenfold, Atreyu(twice in the last two years), Lacuna Coil, Killswitch Engage (twice in the last two years), Chimaira, Bullet for My Valentine, and MORE...TRIVIUM, If all these bands can come play in Portland, why Haven't you, and when will you!? I say this as a DESPERATE Trivium Fan...PLEASE...!
