I wanted to know if anyone else thinks the tones alright...

I'm shooting for an 80's metal tone...so I kept the mids pretty clear...

It doesn't only have to do with EQ, it has to do with his pickups, wood, amp, etc.

and yes, your tone is great. I love how you can pull off legato so smoothly,
Legato can make even horrible tone sound smooth however.

Yeah I know...quite the show off huh?

Anyway, I'm glad people seem to enjoy the tone...I really liked it and really wanted to make sure I wasn't tone deaf!!
I think it might have sounded a bit thin because it was recorded on a camera with the TEENSIEST little mic
Other than that though...I really dig it!!
I want to record some stuff too...I think I'll make a seperate thread for that though...

The settings?
Well...the whole setup was like...
The Rg...it's a 2620 prestige...all stock
the amp was a peavey triplexxx
The cabinet was an avatar 4x12 with celestion vintage 30's and g12h30's
The settings were....
Gain: about 4
Treble: 12:30?
Mid: At about 1 o' clock...maybe 2 o' clock?
Bass: 1 o' clock...
I had the tone and volume on my guitar dimed...
no effects...stompboxes...nothing...guitar, cable, amplifier...
The tubes are stock...power tubes: sovtek 6l6wxt's
preamp tubes: Electro-Harmonix 12ax7's :-)
It's an older xxx model...now the stock power tubes are ruby? maybe? I remember the 6505's having them now...
