...is incredible! As a fellow drummer i've got to say that Travis is spot on on every track. Allmusic.com's review picked up on it - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Crusade_%28album%29 (follow the link). Every member of Trivium have shown just how good they are at their instruments on The Crusade, i just wanted to show my appreciation to Travis for being so damn good! |

I like his footwork. I was able to predict what beats would come next in songs though, so I'm not sure if that's because I'm like the best drummer ever or if he kinda didn't do anything that interesting. |

I agree, every member of the band did a damn good job on this CD. I am fond of the riffs and Paolo's basswork so far, Travis' drumming kicks major ass as always. |

On Ascendancy, I thought he tried too hard, there were a lot of fast double bass parts that I felt did not fit the music at all. But on The Crusade, I think he did an excellent job. |

Whats cool about is that if this album ends up being as influential on the rest of the genre as I think it might be, we may see other drummers following Travis' lead of having a variety of styles throughout the album. I love double bass as much as or more than the next guy, but just a continuous wall of it for 70 minutes actually manages to get pretty dull. This album really shows a lot of creativity in terms of drumming and a lot of restraint as well. |
