I believe it's something combined of many of these theory's, remember the Trivium guy's aren't stupid
So I believe that the logo has a trinity meaning of some sort, with many of the meanings connected to name also

the original singer came up with the name and when he left they kept the name

that symbol is commonly used in japan ( Matt Heafy grew up in Tokyo ) but it's not a uniformed symbol many families used a different variation of it Trivium is no different theirs is a different variation of the tomoe symbol
