http://www.getthrashed.com/ <- documentary about thrash metal. from the website: "Get Thrashed traces the rise, fall and impact of thrash metal; from its early years, through its influence on grunge, nu metal and today’s heavy metal scene. It is the story of the heaviest, hardest music of the 80s and early 90s as told by the bands who lived it, the fans and bands that grew up on it and by the artists that carry the “thrash metal” flag today" I think Trivium are definitely one of today's bands carrying the thrash metal flag, probably the most important one. IMO this documentary should start with Metallica and end with Trivium!

That documentary is complete nonsense, first of all. How do you make a movie called "Get Thrashed" and fill the trailer with groove post-thrash crap?! I'm sorry, but couldn't they track down any people worth a shit to talk about thrash? I don't think Kittie and Godsmack are bands that I want to hear talking about thrash metal. As for artists that carry the "thrash metal flag" today, I would say there are a handful of bands doing it, but I don't think I'd consider Trivium to be one of those bands. I'd go more with say, Nocturnal, Sauron, Toxic Holocaust, and the like, first and foremost.

You obviously just picked the 2 because it would help your arguement. this documentary is being done by a fan of thrash metal. He's grew up on thrash and he's done his homework unlike some people posting on this thread.

QUOTE(D.VU)eh trivum will get even more mainstream if they did be on it. so yeah i woudlnt like that well I'm not one of those that dislikes a band once they get popular. I want to see Trivium succeed as long as they continue to make good music. The guy doing this documentary will probably get it aired on mtv or vh1 (hell he worked at MTV for like 10 years) so he would give Trivium some good exposure. ofcourse some of you are gonna now assume that just cuz he works at MTV he can't be real fan of thrash metal...ofcourse <sarcasm>

The thrash metal scene, that is. I don't care if the bands were influenced by thrash or not, the fact that someone actually makes a documentary on thrash metal, fills it with cliches like "Thrash metal is metal put to the extreme" and "It's like this hate that is filled inside your pours", and then has the balls to interview nu metal faggots is mind-boggling to say the least. If he is such a fan of thrash metal, you'd think he wouldn't fill up the trailer music with 70% of non-thrash bands.

I'm sure if he made a proper documentary in your eyes it would be filled with bands from the century media catalogs. Let me ask you something: how many of the bands that you mentioned are actively touring worldwide, working hard and making a name for themselves? Trivium are doing this and it is no accident they are where they are now. Trivium are heavily influenced by thrash metal and their music will influence others the same way. They went from the underground to being on the same stage as Metallica in about a years time. This is what I call impact and this is what makes them important.

Oh yeah, I'd love bands on Century Media to be in a documentary on thrash metal. Then we could see great thrash bands like Lacuna Coil, God Forbid, and Arch Enemy  . Who cares about touring worldwide? U2 tours worldwide, too. That's great that Trivium has made a name for themselves, and I congratulate them on their success, but I don't see their personal triumph to be a triumph of thrash metal, as you seem to think.
