Hey yall... just dropping in to say whats up...and i have a question
What distortion pedal would i have to buy to sound like them....i have a old amp which has OK distortion on it...i want to know what pedal can make me sound like that...i have a bumblebee razorback and a marshall cab
i know matt uses maxon and corey uses the ibanez but i dont want to take my chance with overdrive pedals
so clue me in

What Head/Preamp or what are you using with the cab? The Ibanez Corey is using is an Ibanez Tubescreamer... it is not a distortion pedal. It is an overdrive pedal. People put these infront of their tube amp sometimes so it has more thump and power.

ya def get a new amp, don't buy a pedal, it will not solve your problems.

That is a pretty hollow statement. He didn't even say what his budget is and maybe he has a good enough amp? He didn't say what he uses.. he just said he has "a Marshall Cab" If he's got a JCM900-2000 head or so... an Ibanez Tubescreamer would easily do the job.

It's simple. If you have a tube amp get the tubescreamer. If you don't have a tube amp, get one.

Trivium uses the new Vintage Modern Marshall-amps (I think), I read an interview with one of the guys (can't remember if it was corey or matt...) saying that they were using these new marshall amps that weren't even on the market yet, and now the amps are released... I'm pretty sure they're using some custom made pre-production Marshall Vintage Modern-heads.
BUT they have also used Marshall DSL, so a DSL combined with an tubescreamer = Rock/Heavy Metal/Trivium HEAVEN!

Well how much money do you have? Suggest you should look into some Peavey 6505's or some Peavey Triple XXX's. Also check out the Carvin V3... they are all AMAZING amps for their price. Many bands use them (In Flames, Wintersun and so on..)
So how much money are you willing to spend?
