In my general observations of recent play lists it seems as though trivium have chosen The Anthem as their closer. I know this is picky, but does anyone else think this is poor choice? I prefer when bands leave me wanting something more but that song, although decent, does not satisfy the "grand conclusion" that seems necessary after a trivium show.
Anyone else think Pull Harder or Ember would be a better fit? Maybe even Entrance?

Pull Harder should be Trivium's Seek and Destroy. It's a great head banging song and I think it's a great. Anthem's a great song but I have to agree that Pull Harder is a better song.

Well, ya, I agree its a better song, but that really isn't my point. I feel like the last song should blow me away, and the anthem doesn't do it for me.

I am yet to see Trivium live, so cannot... really compare with you guys. I have all the albums and theyre demo, and i dont listen to to Anthem much to tell you the truth, i prefer most of the other songs. Example Ascendancy is my fave album, i always listen to it and have memorised nearly all the songs.
So being a critic, in my shoes, Anthem isnt in my top 8 songs.
Though it does get me moving i just listened to it, and i do like the song no less. Untill i see Trivium live, I cant say for sure.
... so get back to Australalia next year!.. as i missed the sydney show due to hospital thing.

The outro would be kinda annoying live. Matt, Corey and Trav just sittin there whilst Paolo plods away.
imo Anthem is probably their best song to close with. Everyone knows the words, it's fun and the song finishes with lyrics

They should end with Pillars of Serpent or Pull Harder! We need to get some moshing going on in the last song (6)

i've seen trivium twice (once supporting maiden, once on the tour with sanctity, gojira etc) and they ended with pull harder both times, both times it was the perfect way to end their set.

I think that it would also depend on what other songs they have in the set as well.

Definatly. The three times ive seen them its been Pull harder as the closing song. I guess they could get fed up of doing it the same every night.
