Hello, I'm sort of new to this forum and before I begin my first post I'd like to say a few words about me. I'm a 16 year old teen from Medford Oregon and I like all forms of rock. That being said I'd like to continue with the topic. |

QUOTE(KrazyLegs @ Jul 9 2007, 02:25 AM) Ok, i'll try to explain it. When Megadeth originally released A Tout La Monde, it was supposed to be an elegey (i think i spelled that right) for Dave's mother. They recently released another version that song on the United Abominations cd (a largely political album). They kept the same lyrics, they just upped the tempo and got Christina Scabbia from Lacuna Coil to sing a few lines on it. Basically, I was trying to say that labeling The World Can't Tear Us Apart as a song with a social message just because the rest of The Crusade had that vibe would be like calling a song written for a dead woman a political anthem just because the rest of the cd was political. |

QUOTE(KrazyLegs @ Jul 8 2007, 04:04 AM) I haven't really listened to or read lyrics to the whole album yet, so I wouldn't know its main theme. I guess it would make a little more sense, as far as the CD as a whole is concerned, if the song were more than a love ballad. But, at the same time, that would be like saying the newer version of "A Tout La Monde" has some sort of political meaning because the rest of United Abominations is very political. Again, we come back to the listeners finding thier own meaning in the words. |
