hey people, i am a huge trivium fan, but i am kinda dissapointed with their new album. it sounds like iron maiden, with a hint of metallica. they dont do it very well. and, iron maiden, is honestly, not that great, and kinda corny. secondly, although the second album isnt TERRIBLE, when they play live, they are changing their old songs, to have minimal screaming. and when there is screaming, its done by the bassist. i would be much more ok with their new stuff if they didnt tarnish their old stuff. a gunshot to the head of trepadation, just doesnt sound right with singing essentially the whole way through. and, the vocal melody lines that matt has made up for the old stuff, in place of the screaming, simply dont sound that good. also, i dont think trivium should have tuned up, i think theyre just trying to hard to be iron maiden.
short summary: trivium is sucking the life out of its old stuff, and giving its old stuff a new-trivium feel (which is too iron maiden-ee)
