Video Player problem
September 16, 2009 1:57:55 AM UTC Post #1

The other day my sister decided to plug her own freeview box into the family TV because her TV wasn't getting reception. This involved unplugging some cables and shifting stuff around. The video player is now without a scart cable and pictures from videos won't appear on the TV screen. According to my sister this has nothing to do with her since she only unplugged one cable and then replugged it once she was finished. Reception for BBC One is now pretty rubbish along with the Video Player problem.
Am I correct in blaming my sister for these problems, bear in mind that three days ago BBC One had perfect reception.

Is it over the air? Did she break a cable? And yea that'd be your sisters bad.

I'm not actually sure what you mean by 'over the air'.
I don't think there's a broken cable because from the outside they don't look broken, but who can tell what's happened to the wires inside.

Most video cables have a prong that comes out of the middle of the end, did she manage to break or bend that? Over the air means you have an antenna as appose to a cable box and a cable that runs out of your house or to a satellite.

I think my tv is connected to a cable which goes up into the loft where the airiel (sp?), but all three (yeah that's right baby, three) other channels have perfect reception. I'll have another look to see if anything's been bent or broken.

Find your TV instruction manual and try retuning BBC One.
