[Pinned] What band and album are you really into these days?

Yeah, i hate it when the camera isn't on the musician when he's playing a solo. You don't wanna see the bassist just standing there or the singer jumping around the stage, you wanna watch the master at work.

I find its worse when the camera focusses on the neck of the wrong guitar or even the bass during the solos! I'd have thought 'not being a retard' would be one of the job requirements for the director of live footage, but apparently it isn't...
QUOTESorry yeah, the DVD I'm refering to is the Live at Wacken one you have. It's just I have the Live Inferno boxed set so I called it the Live Inferno DVD. (Should have really said Wacken to avoid the confusion haha but yeah)
Have you seen the Emperial Live Ceremony DVD? That's an indoor gig and has a much better atmosphere than the Wacken one, it's also edited a lot better, with the camera on Ihsahn during pretty much all his solos.
Yeah I have that one too, its just that (imo) the wacken setlist is much better as its more of a best of and includes Prometheus material (and I was there - you have no idea how excited I got when the Into The Infinity of Thoughts intro started!), and skinhead Ishahn is well, just a bit weird really!
And I don't remember there being pyro in the live ceremony DVD? I know they used it at the Inferno fest so I'd love to see pro-shot footage of that.

Emperial live Ceremony is amazing, but yea, the setlist wouldve been more interesting if it had Prometheus songs, but i still love every single song in that DVD..and the music video is bad ass

Yeah, I think Emperial Live Ceremony is awesome too. I even like Ihsahn's skinhead but yeah, I suppose it would have added to the experience if it'd featured some Prometheus material.. but then again, Prometheus wasn't released for a year after the 'Emperial' DVD was recorded/realeased.

Yeah that's the only bad thing about that DVD for me - it was recorded around the time of IX Equilibrium, and I'm not really too much of a fan of that album.

lol, oh come on I can't be the only one who thinks anthems/nightside>>>>>>>>>>IX? Surely?

August 22, 2009 9:09:18 AM UTC Post #3459

Nightside and IX Equilibrium are on a par for me. I really can't decide which one I like more...

IX Equilibrium wins for one reason...
