Which ISP?

I know this might seem like a boring thread, but the brief discussion in the pissed off thread made me want to know which ISP you guys use?
This is mainly directed to UK residents, but I'd be interested in hearing about broadband services overseas too.. Man, I sound like a fucking geek!

i'm on virgin media, but not the fancy superhigh speed cable, i'm on their ADSL service and its fucking bollocks. I can spit on my exchange from here yet i get a constant through speed of 1.5mbps, on an up to 8mbps line. they wont do anything because its over 1 meg grrr.
come november when the contract is up, i'm going with sky

Why did you delete the thread then post it again? Anyway, like I said before the last thread got sucked into the Bermuda Triangle, it's BT at home. It's not that great but I only have to put up with it for a couple more weeks.

I take it you're not in a fiber-optic area if you're on Virgin ADSL?
One thing I'd say about migrating is check it out first, if you go to Sky they might put you on the LLU network which may not get you a higher speed than what you're getting at Virgin.. just a heads up.

I have Saunalahti aka Sauna Lake in Finnish ,no problem with it what so ever. All the Finnish ISP are pretty decent overall from what I heard and experienced.

I think the UK is just pretty behind in the internet stakes haha.

I've got Telstra Broadband. It's alright, even though it could be faster and have more monthly usage. But it doesn't fuck up too often, so I'm happy.

Whats with you Aussie people having a predefined monthly usage of your net?!, must suck truly! , We have always had unlimited Internet download here in Finland for a monthly fee.
You foreign phone operators seem to suck also?, I pay a 5 euro monthly fee and get 1000 texts to send before its starts to cost me extra which you foreign people cant even believe is true! , Im glad to be living in Finland

It's not just the aussies that have predefined monthly usage, it's here in Belgium as well. You could get unlimited downloading acces, but that'd mean you'd have to pay gazillions more on what the ISP is already ripping off you. I think we have about 50 GB on the computer. So that's enough I suppose. Though if you want internet for a laptop (considering you don't have internet at home and want to surf in the entire country) it usually only varies from 500mb to 2 GB, so yeah, that's basically nothing. (And it's ridiculously expensive as well. Oh well. ) As for ISPs, I'm with Telenet, A Belgian - yes Belgian, as in yes countries the size of a shitstain have their own providers (okay Telenet doesn't really count because it's a partner of Tele 2 which is available in other countries, but Belgacom for example) And honestly, there's no difference in the level of shitness between our providers.
