I really am thankful that you made this video. When I first listened to the album I was disappointed because it wasn't the sound I was used to in your other albums; sometimes change is hard to accept. After listening to this video and your descriptions, I now understand the album more, and I will be able to listen to the album again with a more educated open mind. I hope that Vengeance Falls will be favored in my heart the same way your other albums are. Trivium albums have always made my top 10. I'm excited to give it a second go!

Sorry but my one issue with this video is when matt is talking about the verse riffs.

I like the album, but its the most repetetive record yet when looking at verse riffs. There is about 3/4 songs with the same verse riffs.

From what the guys are saying here, it's like they were really trying to impress David. Which is why they still haven't realized their full potential; they still underrate themselves.

Good record. I'd like to see more of a trivium record next though, where the guys made the records that they want, not what they feel a producer will want

"where the guys made the records that they want, not what they feel a producer will want" I can't remember which interview Matt did, but he said VF is one of the records they WANTED to make. It's what they wanted to hear as metal fans and music (in general) fans. They weren't trying to impress anybody. David just so happened to be impressed by that little lyric that Matt said he could do. I'm not trying to be an asshole or anything, I'm just stating the truth.

Don't worry. You didn't sound like an arsehole at all.
I get where you're coming from, but every interview about the album I've seen there's been one of the band saying 'David was so impressed with this' or 'david felt that we were ready to do this'. It just seems like they jumped through a few hoops.

Personally I was massively dissapointed when I heard the album, but I bought it anyway and its grown on me. Not as much as Waves, shog, asc or ember, but it's still decent.
The title track confuses me. I dunno if it's just me but it sounds really out of place next to the other songs?
