AN INTERNATIONAL rock band dedicated a gig to a teenager who lost his battle with cancer just weeks after his family perished in a house fire.
American band Trivium said they were humbled to know that one of 17-year-old Adam Riaz's dying wishes was to meet them backstage when they supported Iron Maiden at the MEN arena in Manchester.

"It is with a heavy heart that we inform you of the passing of our dear friend, bandmate, and artist, Defiance guitarist Doug Harrington. At his request, and for the privacy of his family, we did not make his condition known, but Doug had been quietly battling cancer for much of this year, until Tuesday night when he finally succumbed to it. He went peacefully and in the presence of his wife and family. Born in 1966, he was 40 years old.
