hey all, been working on some songs for the past while which has recently come to fruition, meaning I found a crappy mic and a recording program and decided to lay some stuff down. At the moment it's just the guitar (rhythm/lead), but I'd be really excited to know what the other musicians around here thought of it! thanks a lot

hey peoples, I was just brushing off my guitar today after a tiny break and whipped out some metal and got to thinking, Trivium is hella fun to play! at least I think so. I really enjoy playing their riffs, and attempting their solos (Damn you corey/Matt!).
Soo, I was wondering, what do all you budding(or experienced) musicians enjoy playing as far as the Trivium setlist goes? It could be an individual song, or even an entire list!
Doesn't just have to be on guitar, could be drums, bass, anything.
I may as well get the ball rolling...
I really enjoy playing ascendancy, I ACTUALLY know the solos for that one and really enjoy the bridge "ASCEND ABOVE THE ASHES"
part. I really love getting into that on my flying V.
I also really enjoy playing the deceived, simply because I just love the melody of the song so much, and though I don't know the solos (too lazy to learn), I improv and sometimes it sounds good sometimes it doesn't, but I still love jamming to it!
Anywhoo, your thoughts, your thoughts!
Hey guys, I'm kind of new here but I've been wondering.
I've been playing guitar for about 2 and a half years now, been playing things like Disturbed and Metallica, you know just standard heavy stuff as far as I'm concerned, and lately I've been challenging myself more by playing Trivium's stuff. And here's my question.
Does anyone know if Matt and/or Corey learned guitar teaching themselves, or did they ever take formal lessons? I mean, is their style and musicianship based on a lot of official theory, or did they just sort of sound it out for themselves and get lucky? not that there's anything wrong with that, I mean if you asked me what an arpeggio was I'd say are you talking words?
