I don't know about everybody else but I didn't think that Trivium had a very good playlist when i saw them. Don't get me wrong, they put on an amazing show! but what they played ould have been a million times better...
first off, i don't think they played enough of Shogun (album), I think that Shogun is their best album by far and they didn't even play very much of it... especailly considering that they said they were touring to promote their newest album, Shogun.
I was at the Seattle show. I was in the front row center stage. And while getting crushed my the moshers behind me I was thinking "hmmmmmm... why haven't they played Kirisute Gomen yet?" Prior to the show i was thinking that Kirisute Gomen was going to be their opening song (because its their best and it starts with a slow, anticipating beginging) but then i saw a copy of the playlist on the stage and i didn't see it on there... i was almost angry. That song is one of the best Heavy Metal songs ever, and they didn't like of playing it? It's like if Metallica decided to not play Creeping Death at one of their concerts, people would be pissed, and i was sure pissed that they didn't play Kirisute Gomen.
How i look at Trivium is that they have 3 different voices... 1. A heavy metal yell 2. A death metal yell (1 and 2 are way different) 3. a type of harmonic singing.
I personally like voice 1 and 2 the most... when Trivium plays the songs that have alot of harmonic singing its hard to head bang... its still good, don't get me wrong, but it just not something i thikn they should play in abundance at their shows.
